To provide clarity and to help you understand the whole Egypt ACI process and responsibilities of participating parties, please first read what you need to do if you are an Egyptian importer, and what you need to do if you are a foreign exporter.
On April 1st 2021, Egypt started the public pilot by opening the Egyptian customs system (NAFEZA) to all Egyptian companies (importers). For importers to complete this process, the exporter must be already registered in the CargoX Platform. If you are an exporter register your free CargoX account at https://cargox.digital.
To prepare for the ACI filing, please complete the CargoX company verification process, which is a requirement before you can submit the ACI.
Once verified, read the step-by-step tutorial on how to submit ACI on the CargoX Platform.
On 1 October 2021, the ACI for Sea Freight became mandatory for all exporters to Egypt, who are required to submit all necessary documentation related to shipments upfront and digitally. No exceptions.
From the 15th of May 2022, the public pilot ACI for Air Freight begins. On the 1st of October 2022, the ACI for Air Freight will become mandatory.
With the newly introduced delegations feature on the CargoX Platform, the exporter company can now invite another registered and validated company (freight forwarders, agents, and similar specialists) to become its representative for ACI filings to the Egyptian Customs Authority.
