No. ACI only affects the Egyptian customs process.
The main purpose of ACI as of this moment is to expedite the Egyptian customs processes and sending the copy of B/L in the ACI process does not affect releasing the goods to your buyer. As an exporter to Egypt you are mandated by Egyptian customs law to submit ACI (see What is ACI for details).
You only need to provide a copy of the B/L or a draft B/L within your ACI filing. Original B/L is not one of the required documents for the ACI filing.
Although the scope of the Egyptian ACI process is currently not affecting your documentary release also known as "cash against documents" (the actual physical documents between your partner/buyer/banks will remain the same as until now), it might motivate exporters, importers, carriers, forwarders, agents, banks, and other entities involved in the physical B/L document flow, to expedite the acceptance of the digital Smart B/L and digital certificates, and enjoy much greater safety and security (documents can not get lost or stolen), lower costs (compared to couriers) and the instant transfers worldwide.
If you agreed on using a documentary release with your customer, then everything will still need to be done with physical paper documents as before. You are however welcome to start using the CargoX Platform. Invite other companies involved in document flow to the platform, and digitize the whole process.
