May 15, 2022: The public pilot ACI for Air Freight begins and will become mandatory on 1 October 2022. ACI filings for Air Freight undergo the same process as introduced with ACI for Sea Freight. The only difference between the two ACI types (Air and Sea) is the introduction of a new document type in the case of ACI for Air Freight - Air WayBill Copy (AWBC), which is replacing a mandatory document type in the case of ACI for Sea Freight - Bill of Lading Copy (BLC).
February 15, 2022: Egyptian Customs Authority will stop issuing identification numbers (ACID) to companies that did not complete their verification process on the CargoX platform. Read more here.
February 1, 2022: We will change our pricing policy regarding volume discounts. As of 1 February 2022, all volume discounts (promotional units (𝕌)) will be discontinued. This means that January will be the last month when you can take advantage of our volume discount, and receive up to 15% additional promotional units in return. You can use the promotional units until their expiry date, i.e. 90 days from the date of purchase. On 3 May 2022, all promotional units will be removed from the CargoX Platform. Read more here.
January 17, 2022: ACI notifications are a new feature that was added to our Platform in collaboration with NAFEZA and will simplify the communication between the importer and the exporter in such a way that the exporter receives a notification about a new ACID number directly in the company's Inbox folder inside CargoX Platform.
November 23, 2021: The Egyptian Customs Authority requires all exporters to Egypt to submit an invoice in both a PDF document and a predefined, structured Excel document format when filing an ACI. CargoX now makes it possible for exporters to validate their Excel invoices before submitting the ACI filing - at the moment you upload an excel file to the CargoX and mark it as an invoice. This simplifies and speeds up the process, as you no longer have to wait until NAFEZA accepts or rejects your Excel invoice. You can read more about the feature here.
November 4, 2021: We have changed the minimum purchase of units through bank wire from $400 to $15. Please note that intermediary banks often charge a fee of USD 10 - USD 40, and sometimes even up to USD 60, regardless of the payee's instructions to cover all bank transfer costs (SWIFT setting: OUR). Neither you nor CargoX has any influence over these bank costs. Since CargoX always issues units in the amount received, you should choose a sufficient amount of units (𝕌) beyond what you minimally need to stay on the safe side, especially if you are in a hurry.
October 14, 2021: Change to the pricing of Egypt ACI filing goes into effect on 14th October. The new price is $150 (150 units) per ACI filing (ACID number). The variable price of $3 per document remains unchanged but capped at $15. If you are sending 5 or more documents in ACI filing (same ACID), you will not pay more than 150+15 = $165. Read more here.
October 10, 2021: Users can now purchase any number of service units (go to Billing) and choose the amount. We have also enabled debit and credit card purchases for all verified companies. The minimum purchase amount was lowered from 150 units to 25 units for credit card payments but raised to 400 units for bank payments (Read why here).
September 25, 2021: If you have INVOICE in a PDF format only, and do not want to manually prepare one in Excel, you can use NAFEZA's official partner website https://portal.bizdocconvert.com/ to convert your PDF invoice into structured Excel. This service is not related to CargoX, so for support and questions write to support-invoice@bizdocconvert.com only. To use the portal you will need to authenticate using your CargoX credentials (they will not see your password) and grant them access to view your CargoX company name/CargoX ID. Then follow instructions on the site.
September 23, 2021: NAFEZA changes the overall ACI requirements whereby additional responsibility has been placed on Freight Forwarders. Read more here.
September 10, 2021: NAFEZA now requires all exporters to add an INVOICE document in both a PDF format and in a structured (special-Nafeza specified) Excel file, or in a special-Nafeza specified XML format. Read more here.
April 1, 2021: All exporters to Egypt can start using the CargoX Platform in the open pilot phase of the ACI project.
